Agape Zoe Festival Berlin

Agape Zoe 5# Edition

Summer time is festival time. In the recent years in and around Berlin a multitude of yoga, dance and spirit festivals have mushroomed. I am very curious about Agape Zoe festival and will definitely check it out next weekend! Agape Zoe takes place Saturday and Sunday, July 30th and 31st and offers 2 days full of bodywork, meditation, yoga, dance, concerts, DJ sets and workshops by more than 30 teachers, healers and artists.

Located at Eden, a villa and dance studio in the heart of Berlin-Pankow, the festival takes part both inside and outside in Eden’s big garden. At 27 Celsius it’s a good thing that you have the possibility to just hang out in the garden and relax between the workshops.

Eden is easy to reach with public transport or by bike. It’s in walking distance to the tram station Pankow Kirche (M1, 50) and the S-Bahn station Berlin-Pankow (S2, S8, S9).

There will be dance, bodywork, art, philosophy and of course different yoga styles: Acro yoga with Angelique Wickersheimer and Adrian Iselin, jivamukti yoga with Dana Sertel supported by an ambient DJ live-set by Rprt. Yin yoga with sound diving with Korshid Amir and Carlos Michael. Mantra yoga and live piano by Zoe Aschenbach and Christian Einsiedel –  it sounds very promising…

All classes are suitable for beginners and advanced students.

I am especially interested in The Death Bed Experience Zen workshop by the Balinese teacher and movie maker Eiji Han Shimizo and Dr. Aftab Omer’s workshop Ecstatic States.

The Deathbed Experience is a 30 minutes meditation in which the meditators gain clarity about what really matters to them in life. After the workshop there is a viewing of Shimizu’s documentary „Happy“, a movie about happiness that won several prices and made it Nr. 1 on iTunes in the category documentary.

Dr. Omer is a sociologist, psychologist, future scientist and president of Meridian University, San Francisco. His workshop is about everyday rituals and the healing and transformative power of ecstatic states.
